WKC Class Schedule & Online Registration


Unless otherwise noted all Classes are -
  • 4-6 weeks long
  • Meet once per week
  • Have limited class sizes
  • Meet @WKC, 3448 N Emporia St, Wichita, KS 
  • Members $75/50, Non-Members $90/60 
  • WKC Juniors receive half off the published price
  • REQUIRE the use of our new Class Registration Form
How to Enroll in a Class - 
  • Class Registration Forms are accessed by clicking on the button in each section. 
  • The form will open in a new window. - Complete the form and click submit to enroll.
  • ​The form will send you an automated confirmation of your entry.
  • If you do not receive an email confirmation, your enrollment did not submit. 

Scent Work Classes

For all Scent Work classes - Bring your dog, a crate, a water bowl, a plain non-restrictive collar or harness, a leash at least 6 feet long, and high value treats.
  • Handlers may have more than one dog in a class, however class sizes are limited and each additional dog is an additional fee.
  • A separate enrollment form must be submitted for each dog.
Beginners/Intro to Scent Work Class - This is for dogs that are not yet on odor or are having difficulty responding to odor. This class introduces odor to the dog and progresses to simple searches. A cocktail of all 4 AKC scents is used in this class.

Novice Level Scent Work Class - Teams will perform simple, accessible, one-hide searches and will be introduced to all four AKC Elements (Interior, Container, Exterior, Buried). Driving to source, effective search strategies, and odor theory are covered.
Dogs should already be on odor, either birch alone or a cocktail which includes birch. 

Advanced Level Scent Work Class - Teams will be introduced to multiple hide searches, complex hides, distraction work, elevation, thresholds and inaccessible hides. Odor theory, leash handling and dog/handler awareness are covered.

Excellent Level Scent Work Class - Specific scent problems are addressed, such as inaccessible hides, threshold hides, converging odor problems, mirror image hides, gravel hides, etc. Blank areas are worked. Distractions are increased, both in quantity and quality.


Master & Detective Level Scent Work Class - These are ongoing classes meant to provide challenges and complexity for those trialing at the highest levels.​

Class to be held - Saturdays @3:30PM
Class dates - January 24th to March 7th, no class February 28

Conformation Classes

For all Conformation classes - Bring your dog, show collar and leash, and high value treats.

Novice - The Novice Class is for those new to conformation - both new handlers and experienced handlers with new/novice dogs.
Basic training to handle your dog in the conformation ring. Leash work, stacking and moving your dog and ring procedure. 

Advanced - The Advanced Class is for those more experienced handlers and/or dog teams.
Learn to fine-tune your handling skills, move front and behind, free-bait, and fine-tune your presentation to "Sell your dog to the judge!"

CGC Classes & Testing

For all CGC classes - bring your dog, a collar and 4-6' leash and treats. 
Canine Good Citizen (CGC) -
The Canine Good Citizen is a 
10-skill test that teaches good manners to dogs and responsible dog ownership to their owners.
CGC is open to all dogs - purebred and mixed breed. There are no age minimums (or maximums) for participating in the Canine Good Citizen program, because yes, you can always teach an old dog new tricks! 
​The AKC CGC Test is administered on the last night of class.
